Yesterday’s Fort Collins Area Chamber Golf Classic looked exactly as you’d expect: plenty of laughs, a little friendly competition and business leaders from across Northern Colorado enjoying a day on the course.
But that’s only part of the story.
Look past the scorecards and you’ll see what the day was really about: colleagues catching up, new introductions and conversations that started on the first tee and lasted through lunch. The kind of conversations that don’t always fit between meetings on a Monday afternoon.
These are just a few reasons the Golf Classic is a Chamber tradition.
Business doesn’t only happen in offices, by email or on phone calls. It happens whenever people have the time to get to know one another. In-person relationships have a way of opening doors that no email or Zoom call ever could.
This is exactly why we continue to invest in opportunities that bring our business community together.
Your Chamber creates the space for people to connect. Sometimes those connections lead to partnerships, sometimes they solve problems and sometimes they simply remind us that we’re all working toward the same goal: a stronger Northern Colorado. Yesterday was a good reminder of that.
To our golfers, sponsors, volunteers and Chamber staff: thank you. You made for a great day on the course. More importantly, you demonstrated what has always set this business community apart: a willingness to invest in one another.
Our Golf Classic is over, but some conversations are just getting started.
