More than 3,200 ducks adopted during third annual community fundraiser
The 3rd Annual Fort Collins Rotary Duck Race raised $70,825 for around 45 local nonprofit and community organizations, surpassing the event’s 2025 fundraising total and continuing to grow its impact across the Fort Collins community.
Held Saturday, August 29, at the Fort Collins City Park Pool Lazy River, the 2026 event brought together local organizations, sponsors, volunteers, families and community members for a day centered around fundraising — and thousands of racing rubber ducks.
Supporters adopted 3,261 ducks leading up to the event, with proceeds benefiting participating nonprofit and community organizations. On race day, thousands of ducks were released into the Lazy River in a series of heats, with the fastest ducks advancing to the championship race.
“Raising more than $70,000 for organizations in our community is what this event is really about,” said Imran Bhimani, Duck Race Co-Chair and a member of the Rotary Club of Fort Collins Foothills. “Every duck adopted represented someone choosing to support a local organization they care about. Seeing the community rally behind these organizations — and have a lot of fun doing it — is what makes the Duck Race so special.”
The event also distributed $2,000 in door prizes to attendees and awarded cash prizes to the adopters of the three winning ducks.
2026 Fort Collins Rotary Duck Race Winners:
- 1st Place: Jason Weber — $5,000
- 2nd Place: Julie Mowat — $3,000
- 3rd Place: Kerrie Luginbill — $1,000
The 2026 fundraising total surpassed the more than $67,000 raised during the 2025 event. Now in its third year, the Fort Collins Rotary Duck Race provides participating organizations with an accessible fundraising platform while creating an opportunity for the broader community to support local causes.
The Rotary Clubs extend their thanks to the participating organizations, duck adopters, sponsors, community partners and volunteers who contributed to the success of this year’s event.
