FORT COLLINS, COLO (May 2, 2018) – Solarium International Inn and Hostel is accepting applications for its Writers’ Residency Program, a free three-day stay and writing retreat at the hostel Sept. 17–19.
The winning writers will fill their days with a run of the atrium, grounds and the fertile creative community of Fort Collins for inspiration and workspace. Writers will, in turn, be asked to document their experience through writing, social media, videography or photography.
“We hope writers will find inspiration in our verdant tropical solarium, in our grounds or somewhere in the abundant natural and cultural opportunities in Northern Colorado,” Chelsea Gressman, Owner of Solarium International Inn and Hostel said.
Interested writers must submit two examples of their writing (2,000 word max), a 100-200-word artist statement and a $20 application fee. The application deadline is May
31 and the three winners will be notified by June 15.
“Travel opens minds and changes world views. So does literature and poetry,” said Gressman. “Through this program, Solarium International Inn and Hostel shows support to a community of writers in their quest to take their readers on a journey.”

About Solarium International Inn and Hostel
Being introduced to travel by their mother, sisters Chelsea and Elly Gressman discovered the best education is found by exploring the world, immersion in other cultures and welcoming new adventures. Chelsea took off at age 19 for Hawaii and stayed at her very first hostel, which sparked her desire to eventually open her own hostel. Driven by their passions and dreams, the Gressman sisters opened The Solarium International Inn and Hostel in 2014.
