Fort Collins, Colo. (August 24, 2016) – As a community-invested nonprofit organization, Fort Collins Habitat for Humanity is excited to announce its continued partnership with Anheuser-Busch, which includes a $35,000 donation. 2016 marks the fifth consecutive year that the brewing company has supported Habitat. Since 2012, the charitable foundation has donated $180,000 to Fort Collins Habitat. In addition, the brewery employees and their families have provided over 5,000 hours of sweat equity building on and sprucing up 35 local Habitat homes and garages in two neighborhoods.
“As an organization we are strong, but as a community we are stronger,” said Kristin Candella, Executive Director of Fort Collins Habitat for Humanity. “Habitat’s partnership with Anheuser-Busch allows us to fulfill our mission of providing the Fort Collins community with safe and affordable housing on a greater scale. We are so grateful for this remarkable company’s philanthropic support.”
Part of the Anheuser-Busch partnership will go toward Habitat’s current affordable housing community, Avondale Cottages at Ridgewood Hills in Fort Collins. The project will produce 10 homes total – six single family homes and four duplex homes – across 1.52 acres. Anheuser-Busch’s annual volunteer day is set to take place on Saturday, Aug. 27, where 35+ volunteers will be present to work on the homes.
“Giving back to our local communities is a core value for Anheuser-Busch,” said Gene Bocis, Sr. General Manager of Anheuser-Busch’s Fort Collins brewery. “We’re proud members of the Fort Collins area, and supporting Habitat is one way we help our community thrive.”
Anheuser-Busch has further supported Fort Collins Habitat for Humanity by being the presenting sponsor of Habitat’s annual community event, Hammer ‘n’ Ale for the past four years. The event takes place at the Biergarten at Anheuser-Busch each summer and features cuisine from Fort Collins restaurants and unique variety of brews, live entertainment and more. Anheuser-Busch also recently hosted a benefit concert featuring Blue October, donating the venue, staff and a significant portion of beverages sales at the concert.
Anheuser-Busch, as a whole, is a proud sponsor of Habitat for Humanity in all of their brewery cities. In 2015, 11 Anheuser-Busch U.S. breweries partnered with Habitat for Humanity; 600 employee volunteers built on 46 homes from coast-to-coast.
