In 45 years, this survey is the first received with zero recommendations.
Foothills Gateway, Inc. (FGI) is a nonprofit organization based in Larimer County. Accordingly, since 1972, Foothills Gateway has served people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and their families in northern Colorado. Every three years, CARF International, visits Foothills Gateway to conduct an in-depth survey. CARF International is a nonprofit organization focused on advancing the quality of health through accreditation services. Most recently surveyed FGI in October and the Board of Directors was thrilled with the newly received results.
CARF International’s survey process examines and, if needed, identifies opportunities for improvement across multiple areas of the organization. The four critical areas surveyed included Quality Individualized Services and Support, Employment Services, Community Services, and a “Aspire to Excellence” section. This core concept in their process includes leadership, strategic planning, and administrative functions. Comparatively, survey results are delivered in the form of anecdotal comments and observations as well as Consultations (suggestions given to an organization, with no need for immediate action) and Recommendations (changes that CARF International strongly suggests an organization implement or risk jeopardizing accreditation status).
Above all, Foothills Gateway is proud to report that they received only a few Consultations during the October survey, and CARF provided zero Recommendations to the organization. Numerous comments were included in the surveyors’ report that highlight Foothills Gateway’s commitment to providing excellent services and supports to those served by the agency.
