Wind Symphony Concert

Troublesome Fire!
Thursday, October 6, 7:30 p.m., Griffin Concert Hall

The Wind Symphony, conducted by Dr. Rebecca Phillips, performs world premieres of works by James M. David and Kevin Poelking, along with Jennifer Higdon’s stunning Concerto for Percussion and Wind Symphony, performed by faculty artist Eric Hollenbeck. Dr. David’s new piece, Troublesome Fire, takes the audience through the memory of Colorado’s largest and most destructive wildfire on its two-year anniversary, and deals with the anger, fear, and frustration felt during this tragic event that scarred our fragile and beautiful planet. Don’t miss this amazing performance by the top wind and percussion students at Colorado State University!

Concert programs are available in a virtual format only and may be viewed via a QR code at the performance when available.
