The Water Lantern Festival is committed to creating a positive event for families, friends, and strangers to come together to celebrate life, love, remembrance, unity, and peace. So far, thousands of partners, attendees, and
passionate helpers from all over North America have answered the call of the world’s newest and most touching
festival. In 2019 the Water Lantern Festival was voted by USA Today readers as the #1 Cultural Event of the year!
In a very hectic and busy world, the Water Lantern Festival offers the time and space for people to share and
reflect on their feelings, goals, and accomplishments. To many, it’s a beautiful and much needed moment; a
chance to stop, relax, and reflect on how remarkable life can be.
Each Water Lantern Festival event is held at unique venues with beautiful landscapes. Our incredible team
spends months planning and curating every detail to create the best festival layout and experience. The Water
Lantern Festival includes local vendors, food trucks, and musicians. Attendees are encouraged to participate in a
scavenger hunt, yard games, and share touching stories until the culmination of the event at sunset. At that time,
they release their personally decorated lanterns onto the water.
