The trio, (Erik Peterson, violin, and faculty artists Barbara Thiem, cello, and Bryan Wallick, piano) performs Bohuslav Martinu’s Duo No. 1 for Violin and Cello, H. 157, Mary Kouyoumdjian’s Moerae (The Fates), and Felix Mendelssohn’s Trio No. 2 in C minor, Op. 66. The trio was formed in 1988 and is named for Thiem’s great grandfather, Franz von Mendelssohn, a nephew of Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy, and an important supporter of artists and musicians in the Berlin of the early 20th century.
