Treat Addiction, Save Lives: Overdose Awareness Memorial 2020

January 1, 1970 @ 12:00 am

North America continues to experience the highest drug-related mortality rate in the world, accounting for 1 in 4 drug-related deaths globally. In 2018, 543 people in Colorado died because of an opioid overdose, and opioid overdoses killed 47,600 Americans in 2017. Education is key. Held on 31 August every year, the aim of OAD is to raise awareness, reduce the stigma of drug-related deaths, remember those who have died or suffered permanent injury because of drug overdose and stimulate discussion about overdose prevention and drug policy.
Together we will honor lost loved ones and to educate ourselves on addiction and what we can do to support those who struggle with it. We hope you can join us.
This FREE event is offered by SummitStone Health Partners as part of their greater event “Treat Addiction, Save Lives: Overdose Awareness Film Series, 2020.”
Please consider carry-out dinner from one of the local Estes restaurants. Bring it with you. Tables and chairs provided in the park.
