Opening Night: Folks of Fort Collins: A Photographic Narrative of Homelessness in Our Community

November 1, 2016 @ 12:00 am

November is National Homelessness Awareness Month and the Poudre River Public Library District, in partnership with the City of Fort Collins and Homeward 2020, has created a local exhibit offering a photographic and artistic narrative of people without a stable place to call home in Fort Collins.
This first-of-its-kind Fort Collins exhibit explores what it means to be experiencing homelessness through the lens of people without homes or shelter, the chronic homeless and the hidden homeless. For many in our community, this means not only a search for a stable home, but for supportive kindness, understanding, and maybe just a glass of water.

While at the exhibit, you’ll also have the opportunity to discover different ways to help, support, and welcome people in our own town and community.

Opening night is Wednesday, November 16 at the Community Creative Center (200 Mathews Street, Fort Collins). The exhibit’s regular hours are noon to 6:00PM, Wednesday through Saturday. The Folks of Fort Collins exhibit will run through Saturday, November 19. Entrance to the exhibit is free.
