Monoprinting is a type of printmaking where the intent is to make unique prints. The word “monoprint” means “to make a one-off print” and refers to the most direct and simple form of printing. The list of artists who use or used monoprinting is quite extensive but here are some great examples: Henri Matisse, Pablo Picasso, Edgar Degas, and many more. Students will draw patterns, shapes, and designs directly onto a painted surface, then use a roller with gel printing plates and acrylic sheets to transfer the acrylic paint onto the paper. Completed monoprints can also be altered with collage pieces and hand-painted additions. All ages welcome!
*your class fee includes a free beverage of your choice from just love during class and a $5 moose bucks to be used at the blue moose art gallery
