April 26 & 27, 2019 – 7:30 pm each night – The Chapel Royal at Hampton Court Palace (outside of London) has an unrivaled choral music tradition. At its founding, the Chapel wasn’t a building, but a body of singers that accompanied the monarch wherever s/he traveled. Only later did the buildings tha this body used become known by that name. Many of the greatest English composers have worked and composed pieces for the Chapel, including perhaps the greatest of all, Henry Purcell (1659-1695). This concert will feature pieces written by Henry Purcell during his life. Benjamin Britten’s Jubilate Deo in C as well as Dominic DiOrio’s Ode to Purcell (a tribute to Henry Purcell) will also be performed. Alice Crawford will be featured on the organ along with the 120 voice Larimer Chorale. Advance tickets available at https://tickets.lctix.com/eventperformances.asp?evt=1221
