Join us and hear Dan Garvin with Colorado Iron & Metal’s story while connecting with others, and enjoying food & drinks!
Dan Garvin was born & raised in Mankato, MN where he also attended college. Growing up in Minnesota, Dan was competitive in the sport of curling, twice winning the junior state championship. Dan still curls socially today and was a founding board member of the new Denver Curling Center which opened in October of 2014.
Dan moved to Fort Collins, CO in May of 2003 to start working for his uncle at Colorado Iron & Metal. In 2004 Dan was promoted to general manager. By 2007, Colorado Iron & Metal had gone through tremendous growth from skyrocketing commodity prices and Dan’s brother Marty moved to Fort Collins from Minnesota to help run Colorado Iron & Metal. In 2010, Dan & Marty bought into the company as minority partners and in 2014, they bought the remaining shares of Colorado Iron & Metal from their uncle. Since 2014 Dan & Marty have continued to grow the business and also a second location in Loveland in 2015. In 2018, Colorado Iron & Metal was on the Biz West Mercury 100 list as the 3rd fastest growing business in Northern Colorado in it’s class.
In 2013 Dan married his wife Susan and in 2016 they had a baby girl Blake. As a family they enjoy long weekend get-a-ways and just spending time together as a family.
