Cheryl Zimlich serves as executive director and board member for Bohemian Foundation, a philanthropic, grantmaking institution. The foundation works to empower citizens and is committed to the care and enrichment of local, national and global communities. Through the foundation’s Community Programs area, the organization seeks to support youth, economic stability and the vibrancy of the Fort Collins community. The foundation’s Music Programs area works to build community through music. Through its Civic Programs area, the foundation funds organizations that aim to strengthen democracy. Zimlich has been responsible for the development of the foundation’s fourth program area, Global Programs, which seeks to identify and support organizations addressing some of our most serious global challenges at the intersection of public health, poverty and the environment.
In addition to serving Bohemian Foundation, Zimlich has held board and leadership positions with more than a dozen organizations. Locally, she serves on the boards of UniverCity Connections, the Downtown Development Authority, Give Next and Homeward 2020. At the state level, she works to advance music education in schools by serving as an advisory board member of Governor Hickenlooper’s Take Note Colorado initiative. Nationally, she is on the boards of Little Kids Rock, Book Trust, and GRAMMY Music Education Coalition.
Zimlich is a CPA whose early career was as an audit professional. Zimlich earned a B.S. Business Administration from Colorado State University.
