Envision Professional Development: Meet the CEOFeaturing Steve Anderson, President & CEO of Forney Industries

While Steve is responsible for planning and directing all aspects of Forney Industries’ policies and initiatives, he is also responsible for the short- and long-term profitability and growth of the 82-year-old American-based company.
After attending Colorado State University, he finished his degree in Environmental Design at San Diego University. Prior to joining Forney Industries, Steve was the president of Anderson Design and Construction, which is one of his biggest accomplishments, he believes. He joined Forney Industries (his family-owned company) in 1990 to be closer to his family and to work with his father. His first jobs with Forney Industries included mowing lawns, janitorial duties, and piecework. He later moved onto new product development and was eventually VP of sales and marketing.
Steve openly admits he is “not the best welder in the world” but can weld “with the best of them.” He attributes his dedicated work ethic to the years on the family farm where he spent his summer days stacking hay bales and mending fences.
