Discover the magic of cyanotype printing, a 19th-century photographic process that turns sunlight into art. In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn to create stunning blue-toned prints using UV light, water, and your own creative eye.

No experience is necessary, and the whole family can join in: this workshop is open to ages 5 and up.

To make your compositions extra special, bring along glassware, flowers, and objects with interesting shapes or transparent qualities. We’ll also have a selection of items on hand for you to experiment with. Plus, once you sign up, you’ll receive instructions to email us one photograph of your choice. Rae will transform it into a negative you can use to print during the workshop, turning your favorite memory into a one of a kind piece of art!

About the Workshop Leader

This workshop is led by Rae Pooley, a PhD candidate in atmospheric chemistry with the Willis Research Group, who has found a way to bridge her two passions of science and art through cyanotype printing.

Best of all, this is a skill you’ll walk away with for good. Cyanotype printing is simple to continue at home, so you can keep making sun prints long after the workshop ends!

Doors Open: 11:30 AM

Admission: $30

All materials included in cost.

5 postcard sized cyanotype prints created by YOU!
