It’s time again for our monthly update to the Economic Tracker.  Your Fort Collins Area Chamber, working with other economic development and business support organizations across the region created a tool to track the economic recovery in Northern Colorado. This valuable resource is a set of indicators that represent critical aspects of the Larimer and Weld County economies, is based on data that is accessible in a useable format and is updated frequently with little lag time. The Economic Tracker provides great insight into the impact of the pandemic and recession on Northern Colorado.

The most recent update to the Tracker includes the following insights from our Economic Analyst, Caroline Alexander:

  • Unemployment ticked up slightly as it usually does seasonally, but employers are still looking to hire and the labor market is still extremely tight with 3 job postings for every 1 unemployed person.
  • The region has almost recovered all of its nonfarm jobs – only 1,000 jobs to go. However, the recovery has been stronger in Larimer County than in Weld County.
  • Overall, the Northern Colorado economy continues to show strong fundamentals with the leisure/hospitality and professional/business services sectors compensating for lagging state education sectors and Weld County mining, logging, and construction sector.

SHOUT OUT!

Did you know that Serving the community is at the heart of what the Human Bean Northern Colorado does?  We appreciate Chamber Member The Human Bean and their Guest Barista Days program.  It connects nonprofits to customers, helping to raise money for those in need around northern Colorado.  Representatives from a selected nonprofit serve as “guest barista” for a few hours during the day at participating locations. The nonprofit representatives engage with customers as they make their way through the drive-thru. Nonprofits can tell customers more about their mission, while distributing information. As part of the day, Human Bean Northern Colorado donates 10 percent of sales from participating locations to the nonprofit. Customers also can make additional cash donations through the “Fill the Cup” campaign.

On August 3, Human Bean Northern Colorado presented a check to Front Range Exceptional Equestrians for $344.85 and they will be raising money for The Matthews House on August 25–and that’s just a sample of the giving back the Human Bean Northern Colorado is doing.  Check them out here:  Nonprofits who are interested in applying for Guest Barista can apply here!

Thank you Human Bean for helping to build community!
