Fort Collins Utilities will be shutting off water service to tie in the final section of new water main on East Oak Street to improve system reliability in your neighborhood, as well as protect water quality.
The water will be shut off for an estimated four hours between 2-6 a.m on Wednesday Feb 20. The affected area will include Olive Street north to Mountain Avenue and Montezuma Fuller Alley west to College Avenue. In the event of delays, the outage duration may be extended. If the project needs to be rescheduled due to weather, we will contact you with details.
Water velocity will be increased in the water mains during the time water services are being restored, which can cause cloudy or discolored water. This water is not harmful, though it may stain laundry. If this occurs:
- • wait until all service has been restored
- • remove faucet aerators or filters
- • let the cold-water faucet run until the water clears
