- April 8-12 Democracy Summit – CSU’s College of Liberal Arts is hosting a special weeklong event showcasing the University’s longstanding efforts in democracy and civics spaces, with various events taking place on campus and at the Lyric Cinema. The Summit includes two prominent speakers: Emmy-winning stand-up comedian and producer W. Kamau Bell and renowned political scientist Robert D. Putnam. - April 30, 4-6 p.m. – Gather – Conversations to Inspire, Donna Brazile will give the keynote speech at this annual event designed to celebrate the work and accomplishments of women in the CSU community. This year’s event will be an exploration of the Thematic Year of Democracy through the female lens. Donna Brazile is Political strategist, New York Times bestselling author, chair of the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board, award-winning media contributor, and was the first African American woman to serve as the manager of a major party presidential campaign, running the campaign of former Vice President Al Gore. The Keynote, and a panel discussion hosted by President Amy Parsons, will take place in the ballroom at the Lory Student Center. Register here.
