Cultivating Compassion
Drake Centre
April 24th
4:30-6:30 p.m.
A person will spend on average 90,000 hours of their life at work. For many of us, that’s 90,000 hours of stress. But studies on workplace compassion show it doesn’t have to be that way. Spreading compassion has been shown to boost productivity, foster positive relationships, and even boost employee immune systems. How many organizations, however, encourage the use of compassion? Join us for a community conversation about how we can cultivate compassion in our businesses and organizations.
Featuring a keynote from Dr. Leah Weiss, the Principal Teacher and Trainer at Stanford’s Compassion Cultivation Program, which was founded by his holiness the Dalai Lama. Dr. Weiss specializes in helping employers and employees adopt practices for resilience, self-compassion, and mindfulness. At the event, everyone has the chance to win a copy of Leah’s book and it will be available for purchase through Old Firehouse Books.
