FORT COLLINS, COLO. – June 8, 2016 – One of the most celebrated artists in the Colorado entertainment industry, Wendy Woo, will kick off the Lagoon Summer Concert Series with her versatile blend of rock, jazz, blues and folk music. The free concert will begin at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, June 15 on the west lawn of Colorado State University’s Lory Student Center.
As a renowned musician and songwriter, Woo has recorded more than 200 original songs and makes more than 150 appearances each year. Her talent has earned her many honors, including Westword Magazine’s Music Awards “Singer/Songwriter of the year” five times. She has also had the pleasure of performing with some of the nation’s most famous artists, including Brad Paisley, Carly Simon, James Taylor, Counting Crows and more.
Her most recent album, Tipping Point, was produced by Grammy Award winner Jim Gaines and features her signature guitar style – “Slaptap” – where she literally beats her guitar like a percussion instrument, adding extra diversity to her overall sound.
Woo grew up in Boulder, Colo., and now resides in Loveland with her husband and two children. Her energetic performing style and entertaining shows have gained her prominence among audiences in northern Colorado and beyond. http://www.wendywoo.com
Little Kid Rock performer, Sharon Docherty, will have the honor of opening for Woo on June 15. The evening will also feature local food trucks: Wing Shack, A-Maize’n Kettle Corn, Austin Taco, Revolution Artisan Pops and the Human Bean Coffee Truck. Concert goers will have the opportunity to enjoy a short fashion show at intermission hosted by Apricot Lane, a women’s clothing boutique that recently opened in downtown Fort Collins. The public is encouraged to bring their lawn chairs and blankets for an enjoyable evening on CSU’s grassy lawn.
