Clays’ Ace Hardware, a locally owned and operated Ace Hardware store in south Fort Collins, is now under new ownership. The business that has been a go-to resource for local DIYers for 12 years will continue to operate with Fort Collins residents, Tim and Julie Kenney, as new owners.
“Jim and I are happy to be selling the store to a great local family. Tim and Julie will do a wonderful job for the Fort Collins community, and will continue to offer the same great customer service and the same great products,” said former owner, Lisa K. Clay. “Owning a local business and getting to be part of the Fort Collins community was a privilege for us and we thank the community for their years of support. We ask that they continue to be loyal Ace Hardware customers.”
The Kenneys officially took ownership November 1. Tim worked in banking for 28 years while Julie worked in marketing for the same period which includes owning her own small business for 20 years. They will continue to manage the store in the same hands-on tradition and values of a family business. Tim will be in the store full time and Julie will maintain her full time position at The Health District of Northern Larimer County.
The Kenneys plan no immediate changes. ”Julie and I are privileged to be part of such a strong culture of service and such a great team built by the Clays and their managers,” said Tim Kenney. “Mike Buderus and Marilyn Dansby have been part of this ongoing success story since the very start. We are very excited they and all the associates will remain at Clays’ Ace Hardware. Customers will realize they are seeking help and shopping at the same great store with the same great team.”
The sale of Clays’ Ace Hardware allows former owners, Lisa and Jim Clay, to focus and continue working full time for Advance Tank and Construction Company in Wellington. Jim has been president for Advance Tank since 2004, while Lisa serves as CFO and General Counsel.
