Have you ever thought about serving your community by running for public office? Specifically, have you ever thought about being on the City Council?
In our community of 140,000 people, seven are elected as our representatives. We put a significant amount of power and trust in the hands of a few people to look out for our interests.
Every other year, voters choose a Mayor (who serves a two-year term) and three Councilmembers (who serve four-year terms). The next City Council election will be April 2, 2013 at which time voters in Districts 1, 3, and 5 will elect representatives and voters citywide will elect a Mayor.
