Chamber Supports Businesses During Road Closures and Alley Enhancements on Mountain Avenue

Apr 20, 2018 | Chamber News

During the next week, the Fort Collins Area Chamber of Commerce urges patron support to businesses that are currently being affected by the Mountain Avenue road closure and alley project.

The City of Fort Collins began storm sewer replacement related to the Fort Collins Downtown Development Authority (DDA) West Mountain Alley enhancement on April 16.  Eastbound and westbound lanes were closed at Mountain Avenue at College Avenue.

If the storm line installation goes as planned, the westbound lanes of Mountain Avenue will reopen on April 23. The eastbound lanes are scheduled to reopen May 1 as the project heads south down the alley.

The following Chamber members are being impacted by the project: Austin’s American Grill – Mountain; Coan, Payton & Payne, LLC; Comet Chicken, Blue Federal Credit Union – Mountain Ave., Big Al’s Burgers and Dogs, Rio Grande Mexican Restaurant, Otter Shop and Pinot’s Palette Fort Collins.

“We want to encourage the public to make their way to these businesses – even when access is limited. We want to push for business success during closures,” said Ann Hutchison, Chamber Executive Vice President.

The City has installed “Business Open” signs on street barricades on both sides of the block. Vehicles can access Mountain Avenue via Mason Street and about 75% of the public parking spots are available.

The Mason Street Parking Lot is scheduled to be closed through November 21, 2018.

The Civic Center (215 N Mason Street) and Old Town (100 Remington Street) Parking Structures are available for hourly parking.
