Chamber Announces Key Annual Celebration Awards

by | Mar 19, 2024 | From the CEO

On April 10, at the 119th Annual Celebration held at the Ranch Events Complex in Loveland, we will honor the outstanding contributions of individuals who have made a significant impact on our community. The Chamber is thrilled to welcome members and guests from across Northern Colorado for an unforgettable evening of celebration and recognition. It’s an opportunity to come together and applaud the dedication and commitment of those who have gone above and beyond to enhance the vitality of our region.

Established to honor individuals with a longstanding contribution to our community, the Collins Award has been a beacon of recognition since its inception in 1977. The Chamber is proud to announce Connie and Doug Dohn, Dohn Construction as our 2023 Collins Award Winner.

Founded in 1992, Doug and Connie Dohn set out with the desire to change the general contracting industry through valuing clients, team members, and subcontractors. It was also their desire to work locally so that their employees could be home with their families each night. What started as a small construction company quickly grew as word spread about Dohn’s philosophy and approach to the construction process. 31 years later Dohn Construction has flourished, growing to 60 team members and completing over 15 million square feet of projects.

With over four decades of experience in construction, Doug’s leadership has driven the company’s growth. He oversees all construction operations, bringing expertise to diverse projects and fostering a commitment to excellence. Beyond construction, Doug supports community initiatives, sitting on the advisory board for Colorado State University’s Institute for the Built Environment and CARE Housing.

Connie’s role is to run the “business of the business” ensuring Dohn Construction’s financial health. Having spent 15 years as a CPA in public accounting, Connie was well suited for this role. She handles risk management, financial reporting, and job costing for the company. Despite her busy role, Connie dedicates time to community service; she has served on numerous boards throughout Northern Colorado, including the Chamber Board for 8 years and serving as the Chamber Board Chair in 2018. Together, Doug and Connie prioritize people and their community, driving the success of Dohn Construction while making a positive impact beyond business. Their dedication to investing in people and community has shaped Dohn Construction’s culture, fostering a legacy of excellence.
