Canyon Concert Ballet Presents: 38th Annual The Nutcracker

This 2019 – 2020 season is Canyon Concert Ballet’s 40th year as Fort Collins’ premiere ballet company and dance school. Since it is our Ruby Anniversary, we are taking the year to commemorate this milestone by bringing local, historic, and classical gems to you!

As a particularly American embraced tradition, CCB’s treasured production of The Nutcracker includes 125 dancers, 250 beautiful costumes, special effects, fantastic lighting, and sets and features our own Fort Collins’ gem, the Fort Collins Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Maestro Wes Kenney. It has dazzled old and new audiences in Fort Collins for 38 years. Start your holiday off with a special treat that is sure to please audiences of all ages with mystery, battles, and beautiful ballerinas in sparkling tutus.

Happening Friday, December 6 at 7pm, Saturday, December 7 at 2pm and 7pm, and Sunday, December 8 at 1pm and 6pm. This show is possible thanks to the generous support of Fort Fund.

About The Nutcracker

“The Nutcracker” follows a young girl, Clara, through her adventures on Christmas Eve during a party visited by her mysterious Uncle Drosselmeyer. Life size dolls and toy soldiers create an evening that grows even more fantastical as she falls asleep and witnesses toy soldiers battling mice and rats. A journey through the Land of Snow leads her to a world led by the Sugar Plum Fairy and her Cavalier, and filled with dancing candies and sweets performing for her and her soldier prince.

Short and Sweet Nutcracker Matinees

Experience The Nutcracker in one hour in these condensed matinee shows that are perfect for the young and young at heart! Please note, these two shows will not feature the Fort Collins Symphony Orchestra. Happening Sunday, December 1 at 11am and 2pm.

The Nutcracker Tea

Enjoy an afternoon High Tea with music, photos with Nutcracker dancers, prize drawings, and of course an assortment of pastries, fruit, cakes, and wonderful teas. Guests are encouraged to dress up and bring their favorite doll to join them! Happening Saturday, December 7 at 12:30pm.
