BKD Cyber announced today that it has successfully completed the PCI Security Standards Council Qualified Security Assessor (QSA) testing process and is validated as compliant with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS).

As a QSA, BKD Cyber plays a vital role in helping protect payment card environments by assessing and advising on client data security strategies. BKD Cyber is certified to evaluate the security of merchant systems that store payment account data, help merchants manage data security risks and assist them in complying with the PCI DSS. At BKD Cyber, Rex Johnson was named a QSA. In an era of increasingly sophisticated attacks on systems, the PCI DSS certification helps give merchants confidence that they’re being assessed accurately and fairly against the most current payment industry requirements designed to protect their payment card data.

“BKD Cyber is excited to join the PCI family as a QSA company,” said Cindy Boyle, a partner with BKD Cyber. “Rex Johnson, our PCI leader, the entire BKD Cyber team and I look forward to helping our clients manage their PCI risk and compliance needs.”

“The QSA Program is the foundation for the effective implementation of the PCI Data Security Standard,” said Mauro Lance, chief operating officer of the PCI Security Standards Council. “As a QSA Company, BKD demonstrates their commitment to improve the security posture of the industry by helping merchants in protecting their cardholder data.”

To enhance payment data security globally while embracing new technologies as they’re developed, the council relies on the involvement of those across the payment processing chain, from merchants and service providers to payment device manufacturers and software developers, financial institutions and processors.

“As trusted business advisors, BKD is always working to identify needs and solutions for our clients,” said Abe Cole, managing partner of BKD’s Kansas City office. “We are very excited that we can now provide PCI testing and compliance services. We look forward to helping our clients across our region protect their consumer data.”
