FORT COLLINS, Colo. (March 24, 2026) – Patients in Northern Colorado will soon have expanded access to orthopedic, spine and oncology surgery services as Banner Fort Collins Medical Center celebrates the opening of a newly developed clinical space on March 31, 2026, with a dedication ceremony.
The ceremony will highlight newly developed clinical space supporting the Joint Replacement Center of Northern Colorado, a neurosurgery clinic focused on spine care and expanded oncology surgery services. Together, the expanded programs bring more advanced surgical care options to patients across Northern Colorado.
“These new spaces allow us to continue expanding the level of care available to patients in our community,” said Alan Qualls, CEO of Banner’s Northern Colorado hospitals. “By bringing together highly specialized physicians and modern clinical facilities, we’re making it easier for patients to receive advanced surgical care close to home.”
The expansion adds more than 10,000 square feet of clinical space designed to support growing demand for specialty care in the region. The Joint Replacement Center of Northern Colorado includes nine exam rooms, two X-ray suites and dedicated clinical support areas designed to streamline orthopedic care for patients from diagnosis through recovery. The center is moving from its current location at 702A West Drake Rd. and is staffed by orthopedic specialists Kirk Kindsfater, MD, Hunter Aronson, DO, Daniel Heaston, MD, Travis Wilson, MD, Nathan Hawkins, PA-C, Todd Bryce, PA-C and Carri Miller, PA-C.
The adjacent neurosurgery clinic will focus on evaluating and treating complex spine conditions, including herniated discs, spinal stenosis and spinal instability and will share the space with oncology surgery. The expanded surgical services are supported by updated hospital infrastructure, including a fourth operating room, expanded sterile processing space and improved staff facilities at Banner Fort Collins Medical Center. Additional parking has also been added to accommodate patients and visitors.
Spine-focused neurosurgical services are led by Eric Arias, MD, and physician assistant Jocelyn Grigsby, PA-C, who helped develop Banner’s neurosurgery program at North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley and are now launching Banner’s neurosurgery department in Fort Collins to expand access to specialized spine care within the region.
Oncology surgery services are provided by physicians from Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center, including Molly Decker, MD, Robin Lacour, MD, Kelsey Shay, MD, Travis Mason, MD, David Schnur, MD, and Caleb Barnhill, MD, along with Sydney Aronson, PA-C and Anna Harnish, PA-C.
“Fort Collins and Northern Colorado continue to grow rapidly, and our responsibility is to grow alongside the community,” said Qualls. “Expanding these surgical services and bringing new physicians to the region allow us to meet that demand.”
The dedication ceremony will take place on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at 4 p.m. at Banner Fort Collins Medical Center located at 4700 Lady Moon Drive in Fort Collins. Community members, media, health care partners and local leaders are invited to attend and learn more about the expanded surgical programs.
