Animal Friends Alliance is honored to be recognized as the Fort Collins Area Chamber of Commerce’s Business of the Month! Since our founding in 2006, we have been dedicated to providing comprehensive, compassionate care for animals in need. Through our adoption program and community pet resources, we work tirelessly to create a more humane world for pets and their people.

As a limited-admission, adoption-guarantee shelter, we place thousands of homeless cats and dogs into loving homes each year. But our impact extends far beyond adoptions. We believe that keeping pets in their homes is just as important as finding them new ones. That’s why we offer critical community pet resources, including a subsidized spay/neuter clinic, a kibble supply pantry, a community cat program, canine behavior services, and veterinary assistance programs (Prevent-a-Litter +). These services provide essential support to pet guardians facing financial hardship, ensuring that animals receive the care they need while strengthening the bond between people and their pets.

This February, our commitment to reducing pet overpopulation and promoting responsible pet ownership is taking center stage. February 25 marks World Spay Day, a global initiative highlighting the importance of spaying and neutering as a humane and effective means of controlling pet homelessness and keeping pets healthy. At Animal Friends Alliance, we take this mission to heart. In 2024, our subsidized spay/neuter clinic and shelter clinic performed over 8,800 surgeries, preventing countless litters of unwanted animals and reducing the strain on shelters and rescues.

To make an even greater impact, we are celebrating spaying and neutering through our annual February Fix Fest, a fundraiser aimed at raising $38,000 to support our programs. Every dollar raised helps us provide subsidized surgeries for pets in our community, ensuring that financial barriers do not stand in the way of responsible pet care. By supporting February Fix Fest, you are directly contributing to a healthier, more sustainable future for animals in Northern Colorado and beyond.

How can you help? Visit our February Fix Fest page to sponsor a surgery for an animal in our care, donate to help us fund medical equipment, or purchase a limited-edition Fix Fest shirt to show your support. Every contribution, big or small, provides animals in need with a second chance.

We are incredibly grateful for the support of our community and the recognition from the Fort Collins Area Chamber of Commerce. Together, we are creating a brighter future for animals and the people who love them. Thank you for being part of this journey with us!
