Piano & Guitar Institute recognizes Christie Herndon, Manager and piano instructor at the Windsor location (currently teaching online), for her extraordinary professionalism. She started playing piano just before the age of 3 and her passion for music just keeps increasing as she passes this on to her students.
With varied tastes in genres – Ms. Herndon’s favorite band is The Beatles and her favorite composer is Chopin – she teaches with enthusiasm and expertise. Her favorite song to teach is “Black Forest Polka” out of the Level 4 Curriculum. When she was little, she would make up variations of it. She also loves to teach “The Dancer” by Norman Dello Joio for Recital.
Ms. Herndon’s favorite Piano & Guitar Institute event is the big Summer Recital. Even though the recital will be online in the Performance Hall on the website this year, she will still perform during the halftime show, greatly adding to one of the most popular and fun events held throughout the year.
Pre-pandemic, Ms. Herndon put on a solo recital for family and friends to showcase the grand piano that was gifted to her by her grandfather, who traveled from Illinois with his wife to be there for this personal Recital!
In addition to playing the piano and instructing her students, Ms. Herndon is an avid runner participating in several half-marathons. And, her puppy dog “Helo” is the unofficial mascot of Piano & Guitar Institute’s Windsor location.
