CIVIC Conversations – The 2026 Ballot – Taxes, Taxes, Taxes.
September 21 @ 4:30 pm - 6:00 pm

Taxes, Taxes, Taxes.
With the fall election cycle drawing closer, voters across Colorado will be asked to consider significant changes to our tax code while voters in Larimer County will consider additional tax measures. Now is the time to learn about the various measures.
Because of another long ballot, the Chamber will host multiple CIVIC Conversations. On September 21, we will check out the tax questions in front of voters:
State of Colorado Issue #232
This is a statutory measure that would set a maximum state income tax rate of 4.4%, prohibiting higher tax rates like those proposed under Initiative 195.
State of Colorado Issue #195
This would remove Colorado’s constitutional requirement for a flat income tax and allow the state to adopt a graduated income tax system with different rates for different income levels.
Larimer County 1A
Larimer County will be asking voters for additional revenue in the form of a new .3% County-wide Sales and Use Tax.
Poudre Valley Fire Protection District
The Poudre Valley Fire Protection District will be asking voters to remove/waive the 5.25% revenue limitation cap created by the state legislature. The measure does not raise taxes or create a new tax.
