FORT COLLINS, COLORADO – Construction is underway on the new southeast community center in Fort Collins, and now is the exciting and important task of naming the new facility!

The City of Fort Collins Parks and Recreation Department and Poudre Libraries are holding an open call for potential names for the southeast facility. Highlights of the new building include a public library, recreation and fitness facilities, indoor and outdoor aquatics, innovation makerspaces, community rooms, and more.

The name should enhance the values of the City of Fort Collins and Poudre Libraries and reflect the vibrancy of the neighborhood where the facility is located. Existing facilities have names like Old Town Library, Harmony Library, Northside Aztlan Community Center, Foothills Activity Center, and Edora Pool Ice Center (EPIC).

Proposed names should meet at least one of the following criteria for consideration and submission must include a brief statement explaining why the suggested name is appropriate for the southeast community facility. Names of specific individuals, entities, companies, or products will not be considered.

Naming Criteria:

• Neighborhood or geographical identification
• Unique natural, historical, or cultural features or significance
• Specific and varied purposes of the facility

The official submission form is available online at OurCity.fcgov.com/secc. Printed entry forms can be picked up and returned to any Poudre Libraries location or City of Fort Collins recreation facility. Entries open on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. MDT. The deadline for submissions is Saturday, August 1, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Submissions will only be accepted on the official entry form (online or print) by the deadline.

A committee comprised of members from the Parks and Recreation Department and Poudre Libraries will review and vet all name recommendations to narrow the list of options for final consideration. All submissions that meet naming criteria will be reviewed.

If multiple names are put forth for consideration, the public will be asked to vote on their favorite. The committee is not obligated to put forth any public submissions for final consideration and may, if they choose, reopen the submission process.

The individual who submits the chosen adopted name will receive a swag bag of items from Parks and Recreation and Poudre Libraries.

The facility will be built on 10 acres of land in cooperation with Poudre School District, adjacent to Fossil Ridge High School and north of Twin Silo Community Park. The design and construction of the facility is a collaborative partnership between the City of Fort Collins and Poudre Libraries.
