Mayor Jeni Arndt and Members of City Council:

Speaking with One Voice for Housing, we strongly support a proposed resolution to allocate $5M in Community Capital Improvement Program surplus sales tax collections to the Affordable Housing Capital Fund.  We are very appreciative of the message this Council has delivered to the community through this action: Investing in our housing supply is a shared priority!

We further encourage your support for a resolution to invest $1.4M from the Affordable Housing Capital Fund in the Switchgrass Crossing senior housing property as proposed by Volunteers of America.  VOA is a highly respected member of the affordable housing industry and local partner in our efforts to increase the inventory of high-quality housing for low-income residents.

As this Council nears the end of its term, we wish you all well and thank you for your efforts to pursue supportive policies and constructive dialogue that brings dignity to our fellow residents unaccustomed to political stature.  Through your leadership, we are eager to build upon the momentum you have established in creating a more welcoming community for all residents and enduring prosperity for future generations.  We are proud to consider each of you a friend and colleague in our quest to deliver a safe, comfortable home for all.

Thank you.
