USDA Relocation Brings Millions in Economic Potential to Colorado

by | Sep 30, 2025 | From the CEO

The Fort Collins Area Chamber has been a partner with the Common Sense Institute (CSI) since 2021.  This partnership enables us to inspire new research while also showcasing the work that CSI does on a regular basis.
The USDA announced several weeks ago that Fort Collins has been identified as one of five new sites for regional hubs across the country.  We are thrilled to see Fort Collins on this opportunity list and are even more excited to share the analysis completed by CSI on the value of the USDA bringing jobs, workers, and opportunities to Colorado.
A new CSI analysis projects that the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s planned relocation of up to 2,600 employees to Fort Collins could deliver up to $1.4 billion in new business output, $854 million in GDP growth, and over 6,000 new jobs by the end of 2026.
