FORT COLLINS, COLORADO – Affinity Partners and ARCO/Murray broke ground this week on The Flats at Hansen Farm, a new 255-unit apartment community located at 1970 Knobby Pine Drive and 5870 Burley Tree Drive in Fort Collins, Colorado. The September 23 event marked a key milestone for the project and drew strong attendance from project partners and members of the local community. Representatives from key project participants such as EZ Excavating, EPS Group, Studio PBA Architecture, Ripley Design, VFLA, and FirstBank were also present.

A group of people in hard hats and coats use shovels to break ground at a muddy construction site, smiling for the camera during a rainy day. A sign and partially built homes are visible in the background.
The project will span more than 314,000 square feet across seven three-story wood-frame garden-style buildings on a 10+ acre site, with phased turnover planned throughout construction. The development includes a full range of resident amenities, including a first-class clubhouse, pool, fitness center, game room, dog park, outdoor kitchen, and access to Fort Collins’ excellent trail system. Units will feature quartz countertops, LVT tile flooring, balconies, and in-unit washers and dryers. The Modern Farmhouse design motif is focused on delivering a wonderful resident experience, long-term durability, and environmental sensitivity (including anticipated Energy Star certification).
ARCO/Murray is serving as the design-builder, leading all major design and construction scopes, including architectural, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection. The project reflects a collaborative planning effort between the developer and delivery team to create a high-quality residential community in one of Colorado’s fastest-growing markets.
“It’s rewarding to break ground with a team that shares our values,” said Brecken Schaefer-Glenn, Affinity Partners Project Manager. “The Flats at Hansen Farm is the result of careful planning, collaboration, and a shared goal of building something that adds long-term value to the Fort Collins community.”
“FirstBank is proud to partner with Affinity Partners to help build this premier apartment community, bringing much needed housing to the City of Fort Collins” said Mike Radcliff, Executive Vice President of FirstBank.
The project is part of a broader push by ARCO/Murray to expand its multifamily presence across Colorado. With several active developments in the region, the team continues to support clients through fully integrated design-build delivery and a commitment to schedule, quality, and partnership.
“Northern Colorado continues to see strong demand for well-located, thoughtfully designed multifamily housing,” said Eric Palutsis, Vice President at ARCO/Murray. “We’re excited to be part of that growth and to partner with Affinity on a project that reflects both market need and long-term value for the community.”
