A collaboration of Northern Colorado primary and secondary schools has banded together to host a public forum on Thursday, February 13, 2025 at 6:00 PM at CSU’s Canvas Stadium for parents and educators to learn more about classical education and what makes great schools.
The event features keynote speaker Dr. Anika Prather, Director for High Quality Curriculum and Instruction at the Institute for Education Policy at Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Prather is an accomplished educator with a B.A. in Elementary Education from Howard University and multiple graduate degrees in education from New York University and Howard University. Her research focuses on enhancing literacy among African American students through engagement with classic literature. She is the co-author of The Black Intellectual Tradition: Reading Freedom in Classical Literature and has held various educational positions, including teacher, supervisor, and Head of School.
The gathering will provide attendees a clearer understanding of classically oriented schooling and showcase local options in private schools, charter schools, micro-schools, and homeschool networks. Academic leaders and professional classroom instructors will offer insights into the current k-12 marketplace and describe strategies their schools deploy to fortify students with stronger academic advantages.
Representatives from participating schools will be on hand to answer questions about enrollment, job openings, and scheduling school tours. Participating institutions include Loveland Classical Schools, American Legacy Academy, Paideia Classical Community, George Muller Academy, and Liberty Common School.

Whether a seasoned advocate of classical education or curious to learn more, this event promises to be a valuable experience for all parents, educators, and aspiring professionals.
