She’s in Power, a workforce program for women in clean energy, is transitioning to STEMblazers, a nonprofit serving girls in STEM, effective August 1, 2024. After extensive exploration and discussions, this transition marks a significant step in the growth of STEMblazers to empower girls and women to enter fields where they are historically under-represented.
STEMblazers, a Denver-based nonprofit, has been a leading force in providing career exploration STEM programs to middle and high school girls since 2014. Their commitment to creating opportunities and fostering an inclusive environment for young women in STEM aligns perfectly with the values and goals of She’s in Power. With a proven track record in the Denver area and recent expansion into Weld County, STEMblazers is well poised to embrace a workforce program. Wendy Merchant, Executive Director of STEMblazers, shares “We are thrilled to announce that the She’s in Power program will now be a part of the STEMblazers organization. This transfer presents an amazing opportunity to expand our impact, address the gender gap, promote diversity, and fortify the talent pipeline in the clean energy sector.”
“Adding She’s in Power to STEMblazers’ already successful programming, allows the organization to reach even more girls and young women, providing them with the tools and support they need to pursue successful careers in STEM fields,” states Lucinda Kerschensteiner, Executive Director of She’s in Power.
With combined efforts, STEMblazers will offer a more extensive suite of programs for girls and young women in STEM including mentoring, internships, professional development and networking.
She’s in Power will continue its presence at CSU’s Powerhouse Campus and Lucinda Kerschensteiner, who has acted as She’s in Power’s Executive Director, will support the transition to STEMblazers.
