In honor of Mother’s Day on Sunday, May 12, mothers and grandmothers will enjoy free admission to the Global Village Museum of Arts and Cultures on Saturday, May 11, from 11 am to 5 pm. The Museum has four galleries, a music room featuring international instruments, the Losel Doll House highlighting Tibetan dolls and costumes handmade by Buddhist monks, and a gnome treasure hunt for youth. In the Museum’s Main Gallery, Collections: Unexpected Treasures showcases a variety of unusual collections, including uranium glass, fossils, combs, rocks, thimbles, Cooper’s tools, scrap metal transformed into artwork, stone axes, masks, barbed wire, music boxes, and baskets. In the Hall Gallery, Inspiring Women of Northern Colorado highlights 48 women who have made a difference in the community by demonstrating commitment, courage, and resilience.
