In a salute to Earth Day in April, the Global Village Museum of Arts and Cultures is hosting an all-day
event on Saturday, April 20, that highlights ecotourism, wildlife, outdoor adventure, and Yellowstone
wolves.
The celebration is in coordination with the Museum’s Global Adventures gatherings that are designed
for those who love to travel, long to understand the greater world community, delight in sharing stories
of travel, and/or dream of traveling one day.
From 11 am to 5 pm, information on ecotourism will be available in the Museum’s program room. As
defined by The International Ecotourism Society, ecotourism is responsible travel that conserves the
environment, sustains the well-being of the local people, and involves interpretation and education.
Students from Warner College of Natural Resources at Colorado State University will be available to
discuss ecotourism, and handouts and videos will supplement the conversation. Refreshments will also
be served.
From 5:30-7 pm, Wolves and Wildlife in Yellowstone will be presented by Paul Brown and Julie
Sivertson, the owners and operators of Gather Away who will describe the spectacular scenery and
incredible wildlife that travelers will experience in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, and the greater
Yellowstone ecosystem. Paul has served as faculty for the Teton Science School and worked on several
research projects in the greater Yellowstone ecosystem, including studying the wolf population with the
Yellowstone Wolf Project. He is also the founder and lead guide for Animals Abound, which offers
guided wildlife tours in the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone National Park.
Reservations for the program are $10/person, and registration is required at globalvillagemuseum.org.
Wine and refreshments will be served, and there will be time for socializing and meeting other travelers.
All are welcome – you need not be a Museum member to attend.
The Global Village Museum is located at 200 West Mountain Avenue, and Museum hours are 11 am to
