Dr. Greg Evans at Big Grins Pediatric Dentistry is teaming up with co-owner Dr. Rachel Ecker to provide free dental care for kids on Give Kids a Smile (GKAS) day this Feb 2.
Children in need of dental work who are identified through word-of-mouth networks such as PSD nurses and community healthcare providers are then sent to Big Grins. All work completed on the annual American Dental Association (ADA) GKAS day is free of charge, and if your kid is there over lunch, you get free pizza too! These children have stories of disrupted families, immigration woes, and many have never been to a dentist before. The Big Grins team joins other offices across the nation to provide dentistry in a fun and caring atmosphere.
Dr. Greg is a pediatric dentist of 26 years in Fort Collins. He has only missed one GKAS day in the last twenty one years. He and his partner Dr. Rachel Ecker have seen kids together for the last four years. This year marks Dr. Greg’s twentieth year; that equates to over $300,000 of in-kind dentistry for kids who need it most.
The national program was started in 2003 as a way for organized dentistry to give back to their communities. The link for more information is here
Dr. Greg and Dr. Rachel have also been participants in the local Project Smile program which was recently deemed an 11 year success and given to Salud to manage.
This year, GKAS day will be at Big Grins Pediatric Dentistry at 3221 Eastbrook Dr. in Fort Collins starting promptly at 8:00 am. Don’t be late to this appointment!
