FORT COLLINS, Colo. (July 31, 2023) – In recognition of World Blood Donor Day, June 14, Human Bean Northern Colorado hosted a blood drive and Guest Barista Day at the 821 N. College Avenue location in Fort Collins to benefit the Garth Englund Blood Center.
The event served to help the immediate needs of the Garth Englund Blood Center, as well as contribute to their future efforts. The Garth Englund Blood Center donor bus was parked at The Human Bean location from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Customers were able to make appointments to donate blood during those hours. As an incentive, The Human Bean offered a free drink coupon to any individual who donated blood.
Additionally, The Human Bean donated 10 percent of sales and collected cash donations from customers. As a result, The Human Bean raised $292.57 for the Garth Englund Blood Center. A check for that amount was presented to the Garth Englund Blood Center on July 20, 2023.

Each year, World Blood Donor Day serves to help raise awareness that blood centers are in critical need of blood donors. Human Bean Northern Colorado hopes this program will encourage the public to donate blood for those in need in our community. The blood donated through the Garth Englund Blood Center specifically helps those in our own community. Donated blood is used by Poudre Valley Hospital, Medical Center of the Rockies, Greeley Hospital, Longs Peak Hospital and Estes Park Medical Center.
