Good Day Pharmacy is excited to announce the addition of sterile compounding to its repertoire of compounding services. The acquisition of Prospect Apothecary in Longmont on April 3rd has created an eleventh Good Day Pharmacy location that includes a sterile compounding lab and a seasoned sterile compounding pharmacy team to go with it. Sterile compounding is necessary for compounded prescriptions that require preparation in a sterile environment and is used for formulations that are applied in the eye, injectables, and IV drugs. This opens up a new market and allows the Good Day team to collaborate with both human and veterinary providers that prescribe sterile compounds.
Prospect Apothecary (now Good Day Pharmacy Prospect) was opened in 1992 by James Snody, RPh, to serve both sterile and non-sterile compounding needs in Northern Colorado. The new Good Day Prospect location will continue to focus on a variety of sterile and non-sterile compounds, including bio-identical hormone replacement, thyroid replacement, urology and erectile dysfunction, veterinary medicine, sports medicine and pain management, and allergen-free products. The current pharmacy team of James, the pharmacy manager; Marielle and Shannon, both compounding pharmacy technicians, will remain the same. The pharmacy will continue offering prescription delivery and shipping with the same remarkable customer service both they and Good Day have been known for.
Joseph Poling, president and COO of Good Day Pharmacy, explains, “We’re excited to expand into the sterile compounding arena and partner with medical professionals in Colorado seeking this service for their patients. This incredible opportunity came to us through the passionate and visionary James Snody, who saw tremendous value and potential in our company’s reputation to grow and expand his business. We’re grateful for this opportunity.”
Good Day Pharmacy has been providing compounded prescriptions since 1996 for patients needing customized medications, including allergy-free medications, and dosage forms and strengths not commercially available. “With the addition of Good Day Pharmacy Prospect, our company now has three compounding pharmacies to serve the compounding needs of Colorado. We hand deliver in several towns and can ship anywhere in the state,” explains Paul Stout, compounding business development manager at Good Day.
