Construction work for the new Lemay Avenue bridge will result in a full closure of Lemay Avenue north of Lincoln Avenue beginning July 6 through mid-August.
During the same time, Lemay Avenue will also be closed between Vine Drive and Conifer Street for utility and street work related to the Northfield development.
All traffic, including pedestrians and bicyclists, will not be permitted to enter Lemay Avenue immediately north of the Lincoln Avenue intersection. Traffic will also not be allowed to turn north on Lemay from Vine or south on Lemay from Conifer.
During the closure, all business will be accessible and open.
Patrons to businesses at 225 N. Lemay, including Snowbank Brewing, Paws ‘N Claws Veterinary Clinic, Roth Medial, Encore Electric, Project 44, Waypoint Real Estate, and Luminous Creo, should use Vine Drive or Buckingham Street to Lemay Avenue/9th Street, then turn south to access businesses.
The Lemay closure at Lincoln will allow crews to conduct utility work and widen existing Lemay Avenue, which will prepare the area to tie into the new bridge and alignment.
The City opted for a full closure in order to ultimately minimize disruptions in the area. Crews will be able to complete the work in half the time it would take were traffic to be permitted in the area.
