About the Larimer County Child Care Fund
United Way of Larimer County prioritizes access to high-quality, affordable child care and in our community. Investing in early care and education produces significant returns on both the economic and social health of our entire community. With the average cost of care in our community exceeding $1200 per child, per month, providing financial support to families with low and moderate incomes is essential to ensuring a healthy workforce and preparing young children for academic and social success.
Since its inception, The Larimer County Child Care Fund (LCCCF) has distributed nearly half a million dollars to local child care centers and the families they serve. The fund was launched in late 2020 with $300,000 in federal Coronavirus Relief Funding distributed by Larimer County, as well as private philanthropy dollars raised by United Way. Today, the LCCF continues to increase access to high-quality care by closing the gap between a family’s ability to pay and the amount charged by a provider.
