Colorado redistricting starts today, and you can make a difference!

Oct 27, 2020 | Member News

Every 10 years after the Census, Colorado redraws its congressional and legislative districts to equalize population. Simple in theory, this process has increasingly been subject to gerrymandering and political gamesmanship in Colorado. And this process is more important now than it has ever been.

In 2018, Colorado voters approved Amendments Y & Z to help end gerrymandering by creating two politically balanced citizen commissions, one to redraw congressional districts and one to redraw state legislative districts. It’s up to us to make sure these new citizen commissions work – and they will only work if Coloradans apply to serve.

Ensure a fair outcome for Colorado’s future and apply today.

This video provides a wonderful overview of the process. If you have questions or need guidance about the application process, visit Colorado Neighborhood Coalition, call their citizen information hotline at (720) 295-1662 or email [email protected]
