On Monday, November 2, Fort Collins Utilities will begin construction to relocate a section of water main to make repairs on critical storm water infrastructure. This project is expected to take one week weather permitting.

During the project, east bound traffic from College Ave to Montezuma Alley will be closed, sidewalk traffic will continue as normal. You can expect heavy machinery, construction-related traffic and stockpiles of materials. A scheduled water interruption will take place on Monday Nov 2 and possibly Tuesday Nov 3. Interruption is not expected to exceed 4 hours, Crew Chief Luke Lindholm will contact you prior to these dates to provide more information.

Water velocity will be increased in the water mains during the time water services are being restored, which can cause cloudy or discolored water. This water is not harmful, though it may stain laundry. If this occurs

  • wait until all service has been restored.
  • remove faucet aerators or filters
  • let the COLD water faucet run until the water clears
