Rocky Mountain Living Walls, in partnership with Neenan Archistruction, recently implemented biophilic design concepts at Elevations Credit Union’s newly remodeled support center in Broomfield. Biophilic design emphasizes the use of nature in the built environment and has many benefits for building occupants including stress reduction, improved cognitive function and enhanced mood and creativity.
Several biophilic experiences can be found in this beautifully re-designed 149,000 square-foot facility. Features include sustainably harvested preserved moss art pieces, live tropical planted pictures and a 93 square-foot indoor green wall. The green wall is a fully automated tropical living wall comprised of colorful philodendron cordatum, pothos and tradescantia varieties. Energy efficient broad-spectrum LED lighting ensures healthy plant growth while maintaining a focus on sustainability.
