Fort Collins company to donate proceeds from two watches, with an estimated total value of up to $8,000, at Denver and Aspen events this year

Vortic Watch Company, a Fort Collins-based company that meticulously restores antique pocket watches and turns them into custom-made wristwatches, announced today it is partnering with Big Green, a national nonprofit co-founded by restaurateur Kimbal Musk that is dedicated to building a healthier future for kids across America through a nationwide network of “Learning Gardens” and food literacy programs. Vortic will donate the proceeds from the auction of each watch, valued between $2,000 to $4,000, at the upcoming Garden of Oz and Vintage Denver charity events.

“When it comes to building a healthier future for our children, we can’t afford to waste time, which is why we are so proud to support Kimbal and Big Green,” said R.T. Custer, CEO and co-founder of Vortic Watch Company. “We hand-pick and handcraft each watch to create bespoke watches that are timeless, elegant and highly functional, and we are delighted that the proceeds of these watch sales will support Learning Gardens around the country.”

The Garden of Oz auction will be held in Aspen on July 28. Attendees will enjoy a wild and whimsical evening while benefitting Big Green’s work in connecting children to real food through a network of Learning Gardens and food literacy programs. Big Green will host its third annual Vintage Denver fundraiser on Sept. 8 at the Dairy Block in Denver.

“Hundreds of thousands of children across America are being taught the importance of real food by growing vegetables in their school’s Big Green Learning Garden,” said Kimbal Musk, co-founder and chairman of Big Green. “We are so grateful to partner with companies like Vortic that help raise funds to support real food curriculum and build beautiful outdoor Learning Garden classrooms in underserved schools.”
