The Group Inc. has selected Brandon Wells as its new President effective January 1, promoting him from his previous position as The Group’s Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.
Wells, who first joined The Group in 2014 as its Chief Technology Officer, plans to continue developing The Group’s leadership role in delivering real estate services that are “both high tech and high touch.”
Consulting firm Real Trends President and Owner Steve Murray said “Without a doubt, The Group is one of the companies I talk about ceaselessly as I travel around the country because of its incredible culture and incredible history.”
“Like most businesses today, real estate will see the benefit of efficiency through technology,” Wells said. “We are working to constantly improve our systems and provide services that reduce time, energy, and uncertainty for customers during the transaction.”
Wells succeeds Susie Ewing at the helm of The Group; since 2014, Ewing has served as both President and Managing Broker for The Group’s Mulberry Street office in Fort Collins. With the promotion of Wells, Ewing can focus on leading the Mulberry office.
“Susie did an amazing job in both positions until we could find Brandon and prepare him to be President,” said Larry Kendall, The Group’s co-founder and chairman emeritus who began The Group with Ewing in 1976. “Nobody worked harder over these four years than Susie, and all of us are very grateful to her. I’m sure Susie is excited to finally return to her one favorite job of managing her sales partners and staff in the Mulberry Office. It’s difficult to measure our appreciation for what Susie has done for our company.”
Wells, 37, started in the real estate business in 2004 in Albuquerque, N.M., where he eventually rose to manage a real estate office there before coming to The Group. A native of Los Alamos, N.M., he holds a degree in economics from the University of New Mexico. He and his wife Samantha are parents of two children, seven-year-old daughter Kaylie and four-and-a-half-year-old son Porter. Wells is also a dedicated triathlete and member of the Rocky Mountain Multisport Triathlon Race Team.
As President of The Group, Wells said he’s also committed to maintaining the company’s long-standing support for vital community causes in Northern Colorado. He currently sits on the board of directors for the Poudre School District Foundation.
“The Group has always placed a high importance on community service and philanthropy in Northern Colorado,” he said. “It is an important piece of our cultural fabric and I am committed to continuing our deep involvement in the communities we serve.”
