Ridgeview’s Middle School Team Placed 7th in the Nation!

Fort Collins, CO: Ridgeview Classical Schools’ Middle School Science Bowl Team placed 7th in the nation in the National Science Bowl!

From April 27th to May 1st, five middle school students from RCS participated in the National Science Bowl in Washington, D.C. Teammates Tobias Hild (Captain, 8th grade), Calvin Blunk (8th grade), William Chung (8th grade), Hannah Harling (8th Grade), and Bennett Stalls (7th grade) began their trip to the national competition by going undefeated in the Rocky Mountain Regional Science Bowl on Feb. 4th. At nationals on Saturday, April 28th, the RCS team went undefeated in round robin tournament, including a game that was so close it was settled on the last question! The team advanced as far as the 4th round of double-elimination, placing 7th out of 48 middle school teams. Aside from the honor they have brought to themselves and their school, the team won $1000 for the RCS science department. Coach Hayhurst and the team would like to thank the Administration, Board, Teachers, and Parents for all of their support.
